Merchandiser

We are looking for an organised and bright individual who has good planning and communication skills. Ideally the right person will have merchandising experience and be knowledgeable with excel. It is an exciting position for someone who thrives on getting results, learning new skills and is capable of working autonomously and interacting with team members to achieve desired results.Responsibilities include:

  • Planning product ranges and preparing sales and stock plans in conjunction with management team
  • liaising with buyers, stores, suppliers and distributors
  • Monitoring and processing online orders
  • Maintain product listings and live site content across all e-commerce platforms.
  • Producing and managing a number of critical paths at the same time
  • Working closely with department heads to decide how goods should be displayed to maximise sales
  • Producing and sending out layout plans for stores, and communicating through to store employees to implement
  • Monitor sales activity to ensure that high-demand products are replenished as necessary. Controlling stock levels based on forecasts for the season
  • Set schedules and instructions for product rotation and new displays for store employees to implement
  • Forecasting profit and sales, and optimising the sales volume and profitability of designated product areas
  • Planning budgets and presenting sales forecasts and figures for new ranges
  • Coordinating with vendors to get the selected products delivered to stores on time in accordance with their delivery requirements
  • Using computer software, to handle sales statistics, produce sales projections and present spreadsheets and graphs
  • Managing the distribution of stock, ordering stock, agreeing timescales and delivery dates and completing the necessary paperwork
  • Handling any issues or challenges that arise with buyers, vendors, or shipping services

Skills:

  • Strong analytical and numerical skills to work out budgets and understand sales figures
  • The ability to work under pressure in a dynamic environment and to quickly identify problems and recommend solutions
  • Sound decision-making skills and the ability to plan and prioritise
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills
  • Highly organised approach, ability to pro-actively manage workload, prioritise and multi-task.
